Participation in Indian Regionals

For the ACM ICPC 2017 - 2018 Indian regionals, there will be 5 sites within India. The five regional sites include - Amritapuri, Hindustan University, NITTTR, Kolkata (multisite with UIET Kanpur), IIT Kharagpur and IIITM Gwalior. Further, unlike last year, there is no "India Final" site. However, we have a new host (IIITM Gwalior) for the India regionals. Teams will be moving to the World Finals from all the 5 sites. Here’s everything you need to know about participation in Indian regionals.

  • Participants need to register on the Baylor Site to be eligible to take part in the contest. Click here to register.
  • There will only be one online round for all the 5 India regionals.
  • You must not register your team for more than two sites, as that will lead to your disqualification from all regionals.
  • A team in Asia can take part in regionals for 5 years (and not 5 regionals).
  • Based on performance of the online round, each regional site will decide on the number of teams to be invited for the on-site round.
  • Preference will be given to maximize the number of colleges participating in the on-site round.
  • Each regional site will have a few slots booked for advancing the top teams to the World Finals based on the performance of the teams in their on-site rounds.

How Directi is additionally contributing this year?

Apart from the ambitious Go For Gold initiative, where we want an Indian team to win the ICPC world finals, for the 2017 - 2018 edition, we will continue our support towards the participants through:

  • Conducting two warm-up rounds for ACM ICPC on the Sunday, 17th September, 2017 and Sunday, 22nd October, 2017.
  • ACM-ICPC travel reimbursement for 75 Indian students from the September and October Cook-Off 2017's respectively.
    • Top 50 participants from September Cook-Off 2017 will be eligible for reimbursement, while new top 25 participants will be selected from October Cook-Off 2017.
    • In order to participate in the contest and stake your claims to go to any of the regionals, all you need is a CodeChef id. We guess you already have it. If you do not, then get one here.
  • On top of all, as a part our Go For Gold initiative, a team winning Gold medal at ACM ICPC World Finals will receive a cash prize of INR 1,312,438.
